UPDATE (11/14): According to CNN, it was one of the Bagram escapees: Abu Nasir Al-Qahtani.
----------------------------------------
There's an intriguing report out of Afghanistan today that may have been buried in election news. US forces have detained a "known al-Qaida terrorist and five other extremists.."
There's no further details, but I can't imagine it was one of Al Qaeda's dynamic duo: Bin Laden or Zawahiri, because the CENTCOM report notes that the detainee had" known links" to al-Qaeda and also mentions that no shots were fired. I also can't imagine that secret would remain a secret for more than - say - 5 minutes.
No, it's someone important, but not that important. Perhaps it's Al-Libi or one of the other Bagram escapees (sans Omar al-Faruq):
(They look like they smell, don't they?)
Or perhaps it's Adam "al-Skippy" Gadahn:
These arrests are always good news, regardless of who it is, because a weak link closer to the group's leadership could be all that's needed to bring them all down. We can only hope.
