I was over at the Pest's website today and noticed that he recently posted a link to a new video of Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi astride a steed. The video quality is so-so, but it's clear he doesn't ride very often (if at all); he looks uncomfortable, like this is his first time and is quite jazzed at the experience. If this is the case, I don't blame him. Anyone who sits on a horse for the first time gets that same stupid smile on their face, <ahem>. The other thing that struck me about this video is its existence. Why on earth was he on a horse in the first place? And who would agree to be videotaped in such a silly situation?
It doesn't really matter, I know. In the end, it's just more raw material for the jihobbyist toiling away with their video editing software in their parents' basements. From this point on every video production featuring everyone's favorite scholar will include his moment astride a steed.
